The Rappaport Center promotes dialogue among scholars, lawyers, students, policymakers, and government officials on critical public policy issues. The Center organizes lectures, roundtable discussions, and conferences. Many of these events are recorded on the Rappaport Center’s iTunes channel for Law and Public Policy Programs.
Recent programs included a Gubernatorial Speaker Series, a panel on the effect of budget cuts and the ability of the courts to administer justice, a roundtable on the implementation of transportation reform, and a panel addressing the charter school question then pending before the Massachusetts legislature. Other past programs examined the state budget, ethics and lobbying reform, the federal financial rescue plan, managing the bailout, government secrecy, human trafficking, health care reform in Massachusetts, homelessness, and green communities.
The Rappaport Center works with numerous partners on its public policy programming, including the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston at the Harvard Kennedy School, the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, the Ford Hall Forum, and state and local bar associations.
