RAPPAPORT CENTER FOR LAW AND PUBLIC SERVICE : MISSION

Phyllis & Jerry RappaportThe mission of the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Service is to foster and promote emerging innovative leaders in public policy, government-related and public service careers. The Center pursues this mission by:

Encouraging Public Service: The Center encourages law students to spend at least part of their professional careers in state or local government, public interest, or non-profit organizations in Greater Boston. The primary means for doing so is the Rappaport Fellows Program in Law and Public Policy which provides 12 graduate students from local law schools with paid public-sector internships in Greater Boston. Public service is also encouraged through pro bono programs which provide access to legal and pro bono work.

Stimulating Important Dialogues and innovative thinking among students and faculty at Boston area law schools and universities, as well as among policymakers, government officials and citizens.

Enhancing and Extending Access to excellent educational, scholarship, mentoring and career-building opportunities for law school students at Suffolk and in the Greater Boston region who are interested in public policy, public service and government.
